About the role:
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting of revenues and expenses for the company’s various entities, maintaining accounts payables and receivables, and assisting with accounting close, audits, and other ad-hoc projects as needed. This role will report to the Controller and have direct exposure to the CFO and executive team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Reconciles daily trading transactions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of revenues
- Works closely with operations teams to resolve trade discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepares and sends client invoices and manages outstanding accounts receivable
- Processes vendor bills in our accounts payable system, Bill.com
- Reviews corporate credit card expenses and employee T&E reimbursements
- Supports month-end and annual close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assists with annual financial audit and regulatory examinations
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1-3 years’ experience in corporate or public accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills, ability to learn new software quickly
- CPA preferred
- Experience in trading or financial services industries preferred
