A Brief Overview
CGL Facility Management, LLC provides comprehensive contract facility maintenance services to commercial clients. The Automotive Technician will be responsible for supervising the repair and maintenance of vehicles, heavy equipment fleet and other equipment, emergency generators, and related mechanical equipment to include small engine repairs (i.e. chain saws, riding lawn mowers, etc.) belonging to our client.
What you will do
- Manages the automotive shop; coordinates repair assignments and establishes work practices.
- Assigns repair tasks to offender personnel; monitors and reports offender time using the appropriate time cards.
- Instructs offender workers on job plans and inspects their work throughout projects to ensure efficient use of materials/supplies and the quality/quantity of work being performed.
- Trains offenders in equipment maintenance and repair.
- Monitors and reports offender time according to established policies and procedures.
- Plans jobs and orders materials for timely completion of projects. Completes purchase orders for tools, equipment, supplies, vendor services, etc.
- Ensures purchasing order procedures and regulations are followed.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks and all minor repairs.
- Properly documents preventative maintenance work, repairs, and equipment/parts used according to established policies and procedures.
- Provides timely response to client concerning work status and complaints.
- Monitors vehicle and equipment maintenance schedule to plan inspections and repair assignments, diagnose repairs or maintenance requirements.
- Inspects the completion of all work assignments to ensure quality workmanship.
- Inspects institutional vehicles to ensure that assigned equipment meets state safety inspection requirements.
- Coordinates annual state vehicle inspections.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and according to the standards of CGL Facility Maintenance, OSHA, and our clients.
- Wears appropriate safety equipment and observes all safety practices and regulations.
- Must maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing maintenance tasks.
- Repairs for small engines including weed eaters, lawn mowers, etc.
- Documents work orders and repairs in CMMS system according to company policy.
- Complete all required compliance, safety and developmental training as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) Required
- 4-6 years experience in automotive repairs dealing with gasoline/diesel equipment repair Required
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics and blue prints.
- Must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools and test equipment and be able to diagnose equipment problems, make repairs, test equipment, and properly maintain records.
- Must be a team player, have strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to succeed while representing our firm with the best possible service to our clients.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must provide outstanding customer service to meet the needs of our client.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
- State Inspection License Required and
- Must have a valid driver’s license and may be required to have a Commercial Driver’s License. Required
