Pay Rate: $16.00/hrPosition Overview:
This position is responsible for providing general administrative support for the academic and/or social service staff members.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provides tutoring and classroom assistance.
- Completes the grading of academic work, filing of student papers and other paperwork as assigned.
- Follows lesson plan and supervises class in the absence or the Teacher Advisor.
- Assists in the administration of state required tests.
- Coordinates training schedules; assists with design of materials and deliver training as assigned.
- Manages existing resources, i.e. books, supplies, etc. to minimize cost wherever possible; adheres to established budget guidelines.
- Answers all incoming call and greets visitors in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.
- Picks up lunches for students; processes lunch forms ensure codes, i.e. free, reduce etc. codes are accurately in the system.
- Processes all invoices, Imprest checks, petty cash and bus passes.
- Prepares outgoing and incoming mail for distribution
- Handles incoming calls that are initial candidates for the center ask questions, and direct calls to appropriate staff.
- Picks up and distributes lunch.
- Maintains student attendance records.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum experience using personal computers and database software
- Current Florida driver’s license

- Upholds the ethical standards of the Agency and 6B-1.001 Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida.
- Follows policies and procedures of the Agency
- Must work evenings and weekends as required to fulfill workload requirements.
- Must be able to travel by automobile, plane, train, etc.; occasional overnight travel may be required
Preferred
- Minimum six months experience in a youth serving program

PACE Center for Girls, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 corporation that provides a non-residential delinquency prevention program in locations statewide, targeting the unique needs of females 12 to 18 who are identified as dependent, truant, runaway, delinquent, or in need of academic skills. PACE (Practical Academic Cultural Education) accepts referrals from the juvenile justice system, the Department of Children and Families, school personnel, community services agencies, parents, family members, friends and self-referrals. Its purpose is to intervene and prevent school withdrawal, juvenile delinquency, teen pregnancy, substance abuse and welfare dependency in a safe and nurturing environment. PACE programs provide the following services: academic education, individualized attention, a gender-specific life management curriculum (SPIRITED GIRLS®), therapeutic support services, parental involvement, student volunteer service projects and transition follow-up services. Every girl at PACE sets individual educational and social goals that are focused on earning a high school diploma or GED, re-entering public school, attending college, getting vocational training, joining the military or the entering the private workforce. After program completion, PACE continues to monitor each girl's educational and personal development with three years of follow-up case management. PACE operates 16 centers throughout Florida a reach program, and pre-teen centers (girls ages 8-11) in Broward and Manatee Counties. Since it's creation in 1983 PACE has served over 17,000 girls.
