Position Summary
Our rapidly growing analytical laboratory is a unique community of people and values. The Facilities and Maintenance Technician will monitor the condition of the building and overall upkeep of the facility.
Essential Responsibilities
• This position is considered entry-level and will work under the guidance and direction of the Operations Manager.• Comply with company policies and all applicable SOPs; comply with ISO 17025, cGMPs, cGLPs and Quality Control Guidelines.• Complete repairs and install replacement parts, reporting necessary changes.• Monitor the condition of the building and facilities equipment.• Maintain building accessibility and appearance.• Help facility to operate in a safe and appropriate manner and comply with all federal, state, and local codes/regulations.• Assist with related special projects, as required.
Physical Requirements
• Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.• Ascending/descending stairs, ladders, scaffolding poles, ramps and the like, using feet/legs and/or hands/arms.• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances. • Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.• Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. • Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.• Perceiving size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly the fingertips. • Those activities in which you must convey by spoken word detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.• Perceiving the nature of sounds with or without correction, to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discrimination in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on equipment or machines. • Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner. • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Qualifications
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.· Must be mechanically inclined and detailed oriented.· Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.· General knowledge of facilities systems and equipment and construction trades.· Basic-level computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.· Facility and maintenance experience preferred.· Must be able to work in a team environment, communicate well both orally and in writing.
