Summary:


The Manager of NGS Library oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinical laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to regulatory standards, while supervising laboratory personnel.

Qualifications and Experience:


• Education:• Required: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relevant to clinical laboratory work.• Required Experience: Six years of relevant experience.OR• Master’s degree: Four years of relevant experience.OR• PhD: Two years of relevant experience.• Certification/Licenses/Registration:• Required: MB(ASCP) or CG(ASCP).

Duties and Responsibilities:


• Develop schedules to ensure optimal laboratory coverage and timely results reporting.• Recruit, train, and onboard new laboratory personnel.• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations.• Manage laboratory inventory, ordering supplies as needed.• Review instrument maintenance logs and QC records, taking corrective actions as required.• Conduct and oversee testing procedures, troubleshooting assay performance when necessary.• Evaluate, suggest, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.• Compile and analyze data, preparing and presenting laboratory metrics and progress reports.• Provide regular performance feedback and mentorship and conduct annual performance reviews.• Ensure staff training and competency aligns with laboratory regulations.• Maintain laboratory compliance according to CAP, NY, CLIA regulations, and 5S standards.• Perform test cost analysis and forecasting for full-time equivalent (FTE) needs.• Undertake other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:


• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.• Frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
