SUMMARY:
The Product Manager will report to the AVP of Product and is responsible for the coordination, management, and execution of the Flagship Product Roadmap and product line initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, strategies for current and future products, overseeing a new product’s development process, creating, and ensuring proper execution of product’s Go To Market (GTM) strategy, and managing products post launch. Monitoring market trends and developing new markets is a key deliverable.
The Product Manager will work in a close team environment with Medical Affairs, Sales, Marketing, Clinical operations, R&D, BI, IT and Quality Management. Functions for this role will involve product planning, market analysis, product strategy, product design, product roadmap, product development, product marketing, product launch, operational and commercial readiness, product support, product fix and improvement, product data monitoring.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Rare Disease product lines (WGS, WES, NGS, Mitochondrial, Metabolomic, Multiomics) and own all aspects of the portfolio.
- Publish, maintain, and educate all stakeholders on the current product roadmap and product roadmap process.
- Create strategies for current and future products (e.g., target market, unique selling proposition, etc.). Determine feasibility and value for future products.
- Set up and monitor appropriate product performance targets supporting the broader leadership team and ensure alignment with overall strategic priorities.
- Research market and customer’s needs. Network and collaborate with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) to understand and anticipate future market trends.
- Monitor BG competitors and key players in the industry.
- Determine product pricing by utilizing market research, production and sales costs, anticipated volume, etc.
- Ensure smooth communication and project coordination, both upstream and downstream, among multiple departments involved or impacted by product development and releases.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate the Product Lifecycle model for all products.
- Create Product Spec Sheets, defining the requirements, features, and functionality of the product to build market standard products.
- Provide support for the Product Manager in the following activities:
- Market analysis, product strategy, product design, product roadmap, product development, product marketing, product launch, operational and commercial readiness, product support, product fix and improvement, product data monitoring.
- Work with a cross-functional team to drive the execution roadmap to successfully launch, commercialize and scale up laboratory and genetic testing product solutions.
- Provide product support and education to internal teams including Client Services, Marketing, Sales, and Business Development.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending conferences, reviewing publications, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in technical field such as genetic counseling, genetics, genomics, biotechnology, molecular biology etc. along with 4+ years of experience in product management, product development or equivalent combination, preferably in molecular diagnostics.OrMaster’s degree in technical field such as genetic counseling, genetics, genomics, biotechnology, molecular biology etc. along with 3+ years of experience in product management, product development or equivalent combination, preferably in molecular diagnostics.
Experience:
- Proven working experience in product management.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills. Able to effectively facilitate conflict resolution.
- Effective interpersonal, negotiation and meeting facilitation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate complex information throughout organization.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

- Able to manage multiple projects of simple to moderate complexity at the same time. Demonstrated ability to lead teams through ambiguous situations.
- Able to think creatively in leading project teams through obstacles and finding the best path forward.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience in additional project management systems preferred.
