SUMMARY:
The Director of Employee Relations and HR Compliance will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of employee relations strategies and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations. This role will manage conflict resolution, foster a positive work environment, and oversee policies and practices that support fair and equitable treatment of employees. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in employee relations, a deep understanding of HR compliance, and strong leadership skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in employee relations and HR compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing complex employee relations issues and ensuring HR compliance in a similar sized, rapidly growing organization.
- Knowledge of multi-state employment laws and regulations.
- Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement strategies to promote positive employee relations and engagement.
- Oversee the resolution of employee issues, grievances, and conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters, including performance management and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and allegations, ensuring thorough and impartial processes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and best practices.
- Monitor and report on compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular audits of HR practices and records to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Analyze relevant HR data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend and develop strategies to enhance employee engagement based on HR data and trends.
- Lead the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and programs.
- Ensure policies are up-to-date, legally compliant, and aligned with the company's goals and culture.
- Train and educate employees and managers on HR policies and compliance requirements.
- Design and deliver training programs on employee relations, compliance, and related topics.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development in HR compliance and best practices.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on employee relations and compliance matters.
- Build and lead a team of HR professionals focused on employee relations and compliance.
- Adheres to Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics Compliance Program
