About the Opportunity ✍️


The Fraud Investigations Manager, reporting to the Director of Fraud and Payment Risk, is responsible for the identification of fraud patterns within the MoonPay Environment to develop mitigation strategies, communicate Fraud incidents to Director or VP, and identify emerging threats within the Crypto, Fintech, and banking landscape.  

What you will do…



  • Align Fraud operations team with reducing fraud rates, fraud volumes, and reduce risk of payment specific fraud programs.  

  • Apply the impact to the customer (revenue, decline rates, etc) as guardrails against any fraud decision.  

  • Ensure fraud and chargeback operations are consistently following the effective process and procedures and be able to adjust where necessary.  

  • Track KPI’s daily and weekly for any changes with a detailed understanding of if/why there was a change.  

  • Establish ongoing fraud education and training within the fraud and chargeback operations team and within the organization as whole.

  • Determine how and why specific fraud events are occurring by reviewing data, customer feedback, or 3rd party notification.  

  • Constantly review for operational efficiencies within the fraud and chargeback operational tasks.

What you will need…



  • 5+ years of fraud management

  • 3+ years of payment experience 

  • 5+ years within a fraud management role or 3+ years within a Fraud investigations  role

  • 5+ years in chargebacks management or chargebacks leadership role

  • Previous experience in developing and maintaining a fraud program.

  • Through understanding of fraud specific technologies (engine monitoring, Basics of ML models, 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and collaborate with cross-functional partners

  • Beginner level  understanding of SQL

  • Intermediate level understanding of data analysis utilizing dashboard reporting (Looker)

  • Expert level understanding of card network chargeback management rules at all levels of chargeback cycle (issuer, acquirer, processor, merchant)

  • Expert level understanding of fraud typologies such as scams, fraud applications, account takeovers, etc.

  • Intermediate to expert level understanding of card network chargeback management rules (visa, Mastercard, AMEX).
