Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electrical design, validation, and testing of embedded inflight entertainment and telecommunications system products. You must be able to independently create and design at a high-quality using engineering fundamentals and technical concepts while following our robust design process. Additional responsibilities include working as part of a tightly integrated development team, developing and testing digital, analog, and RF hardware, developing functional test methods, schematic/layout activities, board bring-up, verification/validation testing, technical documentation, failure analysis, and sustainment activities of current circuits and systems.COME ON BOARD THE GOGO BUSINESS AVIATION ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TEAM!
How will you make a difference?
Schematic capture (Cadence OrCAD) and prototype bring-up of embedded hardware designs
Component selection and Bill of Material management from design to new product introduction and sustaining support
High-speed digital design and layout including PCI, PCIe, SATA, USB, HDMI, Display Port, Gigabit Ethernet, and Memory (DDR2/DDR3)
Design review of schematic and PCB layout activities
Design, bring up, and test embedded circuits, including processors, onboard DDR memory, RF circuits, and other peripheral IO interfaces
Development, execution, and documentation of verification, validation, and stress testing of electrical hardware, including ethernet, USB, aircraft interfaces, PC/embedded system components, and proprietary microcomputers and devices
Design of system hardware to meet RTCA DO-160 and DO-254.
Ability to identify and effectively troubleshoot combined Hardware/RF/Firmware/Software problems and implement appropriate corrections
Collaborate effectively in a small team environment. Be a key contributor to the hardware/software design from early prototype development to the release of the product, including:
Specification, requirements, & design reviews
Board and system levels bring up testing and debugging
Qualification and certification testing (DO-160, DO-254, FCC)
Develop and support hardware test methodologies for in-house operations
Electrical component release and BOM management using PLM systems
Be willing and able to take on any task and complete it with minimal oversight
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
4-7 years of rugged hardware and/or avionics experience preferred. High-speed digital design and simulation experience.
Ability to travel domestically to work with contract manufacturers, test facilities, and vendors, 2-5 days per year
This position is onsite in the Broomfield, Colorado office, Monday - Friday
Required Skills, Talents & Experience
Familiarity with PC architecture, interfaces, and peripherals
Understanding of RF concepts – RF design
Experience with lab equipment for design and troubleshooting exercises, including Oscilloscopes, DMM, Programmable power supplies, and spectrum analyzers
Board and system level bring up, testing, and debug
Proficiency with Microsoft software tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Willing and able to take on any task and complete it with limited oversight
Preferred Skills, Talents & Experience
High-speed digital design and simulation experience
Avionics industry, DO-160, or MIL-STD design experience
DO-254 process for embedded hardware experience
Experience designing or testing high-speed interfaces
Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems environments
Knowledge of electrical schematic simulation tools
Coding and/or scripting experience
