We are looking for a dynamic, resourceful, and creative Culture & Engagement Specialist who thrives in and appreciates a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment to join our global DEI, Culture & Development team. As a member of the DEI, Culture & Development team, this person will report to the Culture & Development Manager. Working closely with our team, site leaders, and community councils, this person will play an integral part in making a difference in the lives our employees by increasing engagement and supporting important functions such as new hire orientation, employee recognition, engagement surveys, wellness, community programming, corporate social responsibility, company-wide and local event planning, and more! WP Engine understands that our business thrives when our employees thrive, and it begins with hiring the right Culture & Engagement Specialist.
This position is based in Austin, Texas or at a suitable distance to be routinely in the office (1-2 days per week, or occasionally more based on events).
The Day to Day
This is very much a hands-on role, requiring you to execute and manage multiple projects at once, across global time zones, with multiple stakeholders simultaneously. The ability to multitask with an attention to detail while taking an idea from concept to execution is key! As a member of the DEI, Culture and Development team you will:
Innovatively support the employee journey by leading New Employee Orientation (NEO) for the U.S., and working collaboratively to continually evolve the program by coming up with dynamic ways to keep new hires engaged, leveraging feedback and data-driven insights.
Plan, lead, and attend community council meetings, consult and partner with site leaders, local councils, and other integral stakeholders to plan, celebrate and support regional and company-wide events and town halls, etc., while maintaining budgetary oversight.
Contribute to and support the strategy for New Employee Orientation (NEO), wellness, employee engagement, recognition, community programming, Great Place to Work, and Give Back/Open Hearts while working collaboratively to continually evolve our offerings with the best interest of our employees in mind
Maintain stakeholder partnerships, working with key contributors within your communities
Utilize employee engagement data and feedback mechanisms to identify trends and areas of improvement, implementing evidence-based strategies to enhance overall employee experience and retention.
Manage the monthly DEI C&D newsletter, promoting events, wellness, learning opportunities and more
Vendor management and onboarding of new and existing vendors while maintaining an ongoing relationship with the Procurement team in order to onboard vendors and complete the procurement process
Support Employee Experience cross functional initiatives and other duties as assigned
Your Experience, Expertise and Passion
Minimum qualifications include:
1-3 years of related experience
Strong ethics and cultural awareness. Excellent, effective, and creative communication and interpersonal skills (proposals, reports, presentations), with a focus on storytelling to engage diverse audiences.
Strong project and time management skills with the ability to multitask and context switch.
Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills, agility, flexibility, consistency, and accountability to achieve a positive outcome, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Relationship builder, self-starter with ability to operate collaboratively, independently and asynchronously across time zones. Thrives in a fast paced, autonomous environment and just knows how to take ownership and get things done!
A strategic thinker with the ability to align culture and engagement initiatives with the broader organizational goals and objectives.
A natural “people person,” with genuine care and passion for culture, community, and elevating the experience of our employees at WP Engine.
Preferred skills and qualifications
Experience with Canva and other design tools and programs
Large scale event planning experience
Video editing experienceProven track record of excellent project management, planning, organization, prioritization, and time management skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Base Salary Range$56,000.00 - $84,000.00
We believe that compensation should be reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position nationwide. The actual base pay will vary based on various factors including job-related skills and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
