Location: 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking an experienced, talented, and highly motivated Senior Design and Development Engineer to create and deliver engineering solutions and implement testing programs to drive competitiveness and reliability for our race teams. In this role, you'll work alongside design engineers at the forefront of designing, modeling, and testing to overcome a range of challenging obstacles and maximize performance on race vehicles competing in the top racing series in the US.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate 3D models, Assemblies, and 2D drawings, including defining and documenting manufacturing information.
- Take technical ownership of a variety of projects on the car’s suspension, steering, brake, and cooling systems.
- Conduct testing to the highest standards prior to implementation, including test instrumentation and data logging.
- Discuss with other engineers or race team personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical feedback.
- Keep close collaboration with internal and external manufacturing departments to ensure accurate and timely manufacturing can occur.
- Possess strong but diverse problem-solving skillset in both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Be a role model for the mindsets and behaviors necessary to create an environment of trust, participation, and accountability.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering required.
- Experience: 5+ Years of experience in a Motorsports, Automotive, or Manufacturing environment is required. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems would be an advantage.
- Computer Skills: NX CAD or related design software. Ansys or related FEA software experience; required. LabVIEW/DASYLab and/or Pi, Motec experience is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
