What We're Looking For
The Project Chemist is responsible for supporting and leading multiple projects in operations and the R&D departments.
What You Will Do
• Performs development and validation of analytical methods and qualitatively /quantitatively testing routine and non-routine client samples in a timely manner. Tracks and meets assigned testing deadlines; notifies supervisor of problems meeting scheduled testing deadlines; records results in computerized data system.• Notifies supervisor promptly of unexpected test results; problem solves with minimal supervision; records results in a computerized system on a regular basis.• Performs maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of assigned equipment and systems to meet testing deadlines; ensures all equipment and systems are operating within established calibration guidelines; notifies supervisor promptly of calibration failures and repair needs.• Maintains familiarity on use of all applicable equipment, systems, and procedures (SOPs).• Stays abreast of current technology and instruments, with strong emphasis on HPLC analytical chemistry applications in the pharmaceutical industry. • Provides assistance in all workstations as required and assists in back up support of all laboratory workstations as required.• Maintains current and accurate documentation.• Writes, revises, and reviews SOPs in a timely manner as required.• Complies with company policies and all applicable SOPs; complies with ISO 17025, cGMPs, cGLPs and Quality Control Guidelines.• Assists with laboratory compliance audits and laboratory safety audits as required.• Maintains clean, orderly, and safe laboratory work area; maintains own safety.• Participates in team discussions and assists in achieving team goals.• Meet with the Supervisor/ Manager to understand all vital aspects of the project.• Ensure that all team members involved understand the scope of the project.• Make schedules of what needs to be completed, as well as of team meetings and coordinate the same with other members involved.• Compile and maintain interim project reports.• Communicate relevant information to all team members, such as change in schedule dates, changes in the project’s requirements, unexpected events, etc.• Performs all other duties as required
Who You Are
• Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry or related science field, including twelve (12) semester hours.• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an analytical laboratory or equivalent combination of higher education and experience. Certified pharmacy technician is a plus.• Must be able to think and work independently yet share ideas and work toward team goals.• Experience with HPLC analysis.• Understanding of instrumental analysis procedures utilized in a modern chemistry laboratory.• Demonstrated competence with computer applications and programs related to laboratory applications.• Demonstrated knowledge of project coordination.• Knowledge of sampling methods and quality control systems.Certifications:• Certified pharmacy technician, a plusServing customers since 2004, Eagle offers the highest quality in preparation testing for sterility, bacterial endotoxins, microbial detection, beyond-use dating (BUD) determination and active ingredient potency.
