Position Summary:
The Inventory and Quality Associates' core focus is managing the flow of materials (raw materials, work in process, finished goods) for sustaining daily operations in the Cell & Gene Therapy business. The Inventory and Quality Associate will also assist with coordinating the transportation of finished products to customers, operational supplies and maintaining frozen product inventory and associated quality controls.
A Day in the Life of a System Administrator at Discovery Life Sciences:
- Attend standing meeting with department.
- Communicate with Project Managers about outstanding shipments.
- QC samples to ensure viability.
- Complete necessary paperwork before sending out shipment.
Must-Have Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
Must Have:
- High school diploma or GED
Nice-To-Have:
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting.
- Previous life science experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and handling of frozen product inventory in -80- and -180-degree temperatures
- Maintaining records of materials, prices, frozen products inventories and deliveries
- Conducts QC testing following standard operating procedures and guidelines
- Perform routine test, inspection and release of materials and finished product.
- Perform freeze cycle movement, compression of inventory and cycle counting as required
- Fulfill sales orders and compile inventory pick list
- Printing daily sales orders and packing lists
- Ensuring all orders are packed and ready by deadline
- Coordinating with courier for same day delivery orders
- Delivering packages to carrier hub if needed
- Assist Receiving department with shipments received (i.e. moving packages from loading dock, etc.)
- Making special shipping arrangements as necessary
- Updating all shipping manifest in a timely manner
- Maintaining and organizing shipping area, including order of supplies
- Assist in managing front and receiving door
- Follow strict guidelines for handling and working in a laboratory environment
- Consistent and predictable attendance is an essential function of the position.
