Key Responsibilities
Process ImprovementIdentify areas for financial process optimization within the accounting process.Develop and implement strategies to enhance financial and accounting efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor and evaluate the impact of financial process changes, ensuring continuous improvement. SOP DocumentationCreate, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all financial processes. Ensure that all financial SOPs are clearly documented and easily accessible to relevant staff. Train the accounting team on updated SOPs to ensure compliance and understanding. Contract Management/ComplianceManage and oversee all contractual agreements and financial obligations with station partners. Working with external accounting firm and legal counsel, ensures compliance with legal and regulatory financial requirements. Conduct regular reviews and audits of financial contracts to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to requirements. License and Registration ManagementOversee the management of financial liability insurance policies, oversee the renewal process, and ensure coverage and compliance are appropriate for the company. Oversee Shareholder Insurance programs and employee stock owner programs via CARTA.Oversee the Phoenix office to ensure that it is fully operational.General AccountingBalance the need for thoroughness with the necessity for simplicity in financial processes and documentation. Ensure that all financial billing processes are accurate and free of errors. Conduct regular audits of financial procedures to maintain accuracy.Oversee the annual budget process. Responsible for routine and ad-hoc financial reporting, including cash flow, P&L, Rolling Forecast, and other reports as needed. Resolve any financial billing discrepancies promptly and efficiently. Accurately update and maintain the 12-month rolling forecast.Team managementLead a team of 2 accountants.Foster a culture of simplicity and clarity.Ensure and validate the team and provide growth opportunities. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Proven experience in financial process improvement, compliance, and contract management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple financial tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, Sage Intacct preferred.
