Your Role:
CEA CAPA has an exciting opportunity for a current or aspiring educational professional interested in international education to join our high performing Sydney team as an Academic Coordinator. An essential role within the Academic Management Team, the primary responsibility of the Academic Coordinator is to support the academic operations for American university students studying in our Sydney Centre, as well as assisting with direct enrolment programs liaising with the study abroad teams at our Sydney partner institutions.
This role has opportunities for liaising with faculty, the Program and Student Services team, and the Global Career & Internship team.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide academic advising for all students, working closely with students needing additional support or learning accommodations.
- Manage course schedules, associated field trips, and CEA CAPA’s faculty database.
- Serve as primary administrator of local registrar functions.
- Maintain learning management systems including CANVAS and provide support to students and faculty.
- Conduct regular reviews of syllabi, ensuring copywrite compliance, and prepare annual report for the Copywrite Licensing Agency.
- Provide orientation for new faculty members, visiting faculty, and student groups.
- Maintain class attendance records and liaise with the Program & Student Services team regarding student absences.
- Facilitate student focus groups and other feedback forums, promote and administer student awards.
- Contribute to preparations for, and participate in, CEA CAPA faculty meetings and roundtables.
- Co-ordinate and assist with the planning of custom programs, academic site visits, including visits with CEA CAPA’s Academic Advisory Board.
- Maintain financial records and reporting pertaining to Academics.
- Assist with maintaining, and training of faculty on, classroom IT technology and facilities.
- Carry an emergency phone, on a rotating schedule, for student-related emergencies after hours.
- Undertake other tasks to support the Academic Affairs team as required.
- Assist across functions to contribute to the overall student experience through student activities, including events and internship placements.
This role is a part-time position operating at 0.8 FTE.
Starting Salary:
AUD $56,000-$64,000 + 11.5% superannuation
*Please note that this salary is the prorated amount of $70,000-$80,000 AUD, the full time equivalent.
What Makes a Great Candidate:
- A bachelor’s degree or working towards.
- Documented legal authorization to work in Australia.

- A high level of proficiency in computer software particularly Microsoft Office; knowledge of Salesforce and CANVAS is preferred.
- Interest in higher education and international education.
- Previous experience studying abroad or experience in an international context.
