As Vice President, Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our technology. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction, fostering a world-class engineering culture, and leading a team of highly skilled architects, front-end developers, back-end developers, and QA engineers. You will report directly to the CTO.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Motivate through servant leadership, coach, and guide engineering staff to perform at a high level, recognizing the importance of being a manager and mentor resource that prioritizes open communication, professional development, and employee wellbeing.
- Build, inspire and empower high-performing engineering teams across all disciplines (architects, front-end developers, back-end developers, and QA engineers).
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Champion best practices in software development methodologies and tools, including Agile and DevOps principles.
- Manage all aspects of the engineering budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
- Partner with key stakeholders across the organization, including product, sales, and marketing, to ensure successful product launches and ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to innovate and differentiate our solutions in the SaaS market.
- Foster a creative innovative culture with a strong emphasis on team and cross functional collaboration.
- Be a technical thought leader for the organization and within the industry, maintain a high level of technical fluency.
- Expand our engineering team with strategic talent, lead technical recruitment efforts and hiring processes.
- Participate and contribute to the company’s management team influencing our strategic direction.
- Operating as the owner that is responsible for building and advancing the new technology around our current and future solutions. This includes working as the primary Engineering contact for Finance, Legal, Customer Engagement and vendor partners.
- Responsible for budget planning, budget management, and forecasting of both CAPEX and OPEX, tracking and providing quarterly progress, as well as optimizing cloud infrastructure spend.
- Responsible for defining and presenting system architectural design concepts for the organization.
- Be a partner to the CTO for leveraging new business opportunities using innovative solutions.
- Accountable for the development and management of Engineering departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures
- Foster a strong sense of confidence and collaboration within the Engineering team, company and vendor community through solid leadership and personnel development that focuses on maintaining healthy relationships and a highly motivated staff.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution.
- Ten years of leadership experience in the Engineering/Technology arena, successfully managing and delivering quality commercial software and strong understanding of various software development methodologies while building and managing matrixed teams utilizing transparency, goals, and metrics.
- Proven track record of results/success as a senior engineering leader within a high-growth technology company managing distributed teams including vendor partners.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and guide a diverse team of engineers.
- Must have direct experience in working with executive level leadership, Board of Directors, and customer executives as a technical thought leader within the company and industry.
- Demonstrated technology leadership experience with specific depth in areas of strategy, team direction/resource allocation, technology integration, and complex problem solving.
- Experience identifying enterprise-wide business demands and using technology to address those demands.
- Must have very strong Amazon Web Services cloud experience, including diverse environments such as serverless and Kubernetes.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree or better in a STEM field.
- Expert and intimate knowledge with high throughput, web-scalable, mobile and communication applications in telecommunication/internet of things verticals, developed in a cloud environment.
