Basic Duties and Responsibilities
- Comply with all internal, environmental, and safety policies, rules, and regulations.
- Responsible for interpreting P&ID’s and instrumentation drawings to assist in implementing software solutions.
- Develop, test and implement SCADA/DCS system logic and graphic screens.
- Design and develop SCADA/DCS data gathering processes including data protocols, data configuration, point-to-point data checkout, and data archival systems.
- Assist with the design and planning of SCADA/DCS system expansion projects.
- Maintain control system program backups and configuration documentation.
- Assist with archive data retrieval for performance monitoring and incident investigations as requested.
- Assist ITC maintenance associates with field device troubleshooting and routine equipment testing/calibration.
- Respond to after-hours call outs related to control system issues as required.
In addition to the primary duties of configuration and maintenance of the UCOS system, Automation associates also regularly perform the following tasks:
- Assisting the maintenance department with work order resolution when control system devices are involved.
- Assisting the maintenance department with required periodic checks and calibration of safety system devices such as PSVs, tank high level switches, pressure transmitters, LEL meters, etc.
- Participation in the MOC process and meetings.
- Participation in PSSR process and meetings.
- Participation in the PHA process and meetings.
- Providing data on monitored equipment and alarm setpoints, etc.
- Assisting with trend and event data gathering for RCA or other incident investigations.
- Compiling and analyzing various reports from system archives for alarm management initiatives and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Configuring customer UCOS access.
- Customer Screen configuration and UCOS user account setup.
- Saab radar gauge troubleshooting and calibration.
- Setup and configuration of control system communication equipment.

Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.Five to ten years terminal process experience.3-5 years of previous DCS/SCADA experience a must.Allen Bradley PLC programming experience preferred.Understanding of industry standard communication networks and protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, Serial).Working knowledge of process control industry standards/conventions used in field automation systems.Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access and SQL.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Organized, able to multi-task and good problem solving skills.
