Reporting to the Manager of Intelligence Analysis, the Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst 1 is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and documenting indicators and observables from phishing campaigns to produce actionable intelligence for the Cofense Intelligence product.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Monitor our incoming campaign queue and analyze credential phishing emails, review available details, and document identified indicators and findings.
- Develop strong email analysis and threat identification skills and understanding to be able to identify trends and emerging phishing campaigns.
- Assist team members with research, analysis, and overall threat investigations.
- Utilize various platforms and techniques to identify and collect credential phishing kits (bundled website code) and related threat intelligence.
- Contribute insight and findings for Cofense Intelligence in-depth reporting on phishing trends, impact, and threats.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

- Basic understanding of phishing and the risk it presents to corporate enterprises.

- Basic understanding of email protocols, headers, and formats.
- Basic familiarity with networking and network monitoring.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Ability to use and modify command line script applications and utilities.
- Basic understanding of nature of malicious software and applications.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Computer Forensics, or Cybersecurity is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with phishing analysis preferred.
