Position Summary:
As a Branch Manager with Wellby you will be a trusted advisor within the communities we operate. You will lead and mentor a team of retail Solution Specialists and drive growth in core deposits and loans. As a leader within your community you will position Wellby to be a primary channel of commerce and assist our members with making the right financial choices for their financial goals.A Branch Manager leads a team of 12 – 16 team members on average.The leader in this role will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders and leaders to ensure best-in-class member experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
- Provide coaching and insights that lead to an enduring organization, providing exceptional experiences.
- Ensure team members understand how they contribute to the end-to-end member experience and financial success.
- Conduct quarterly professional development conversations with team members, discussing next quarter’s development goals.
- Champion change with the team and around the organization.
- Remove barriers between business units and collaborate cross-functionally.
Member Experience
- Collaborate with Retail Experience leadership to propose training materials to executive leadership that will assist the Branch team members in successfully delivering on business goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness. Deliver recommendations to executive leadership.
Team Member Experience
- Ensure team members understand how to provide exceptional member experiences.
- Select team members for the Branch that align with low effort member experiences and continuously develop them to support our purpose.
- Benchmark team member performance with experience level and collaborate to support them in their professional development.
- Drive positive team member engagement through effective leadership practices.
Business Development
- Partner with the Business Development team and peer managers to develop local business development strategy.
- Participate in highly visible community events quarterly or more to increase Wellby’s visibility and enhance new and existing membership opportunities.
- Conduct outbound calls to members to gain a better understanding of their current and future financial needs.
Branch Success Metrics
- Lead the Branch to achieve or exceed business goals related to new members, deepening, member satisfaction, retention, quality, and availability.
- Achieve team member related business goals related to team member retention, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Drive team efficiencies through use of digital tools and resources.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, security requirements, government regulations and ethical business practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 2+ years credit union or bank retail banking experience
- 1+ years of leadership experience
- Some college hours of study
- Basic knowledge of retail product philosophy and regulations
- Proven member service, interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to analyze member/prospect’s credit data and other financial information to provide product insights and considerations
- Thorough knowledge of retail product philosophy, policy, procedures, documentation, and systems preferred
- Teller experience preferred
- Personal banking experience preferred
- Escalation management experience preferred
- Vault management and supervisory experience preferred
- Small branch experience preferred
- Experience leading virtual/remote team members preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field of study preferred
- Proven coaching/developing of high performing teams preferred
- Effective closing, deepening and referral skills preferred

Job Requirements:
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 pounds across office and load onto shelves for various needs.
