Business Development Representative

Key Responsibilities/ Duties:


  • Utilize cold calls, emails, marketing outreach, and other prospecting tools (such as Salesloft) to generate new sales opportunities.
  • Enthusiastically make 75-125 calls per day to Meriplex’s qualified targets.
  • Identify the needs of prospects and suggest appropriate products or services.
  • Build trust with prospects and help qualify leads as sales opportunities.
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) customers and our sales representatives.
  • Report to BDM with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results.
  • Provide support to sales representatives in their day-to-day operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by their BDM and Sales Operations management.

  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Thrives in a dynamic, in-person team environment that's both collaborative and competitive.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities to complete tasks in a short period of time.
  • Able to work with people of different personalities and temperaments, maintaining focus on customer satisfaction, company goals and moving towards successful completion.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint.

Education/ Experience: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications or similar field preferred but not required.
  • 2+ years of sales experience preferred.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to produce solutions on the fly.
  • Experience making cold calls and communicating professionally over the phone.
  • Experience with managing marketing outreach.
  • Experience with IT Managed Service Providers (MSP) and Products is preferred.
  • Strong desire to move up in within a sales organization.

Physical Demands: 


Sedentary Work – Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
