Summary of Position:
This Control Room Operator position will execute remote operational control of multiple saltwater disposal facilities and pipelines. The position will be responsible for improving the efficiencies and effectiveness of daily field operations, while also improving safety and environmental stewardship. Reporting to Control Room Manager in our Houston, TX office.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The following represents most of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and controlling SWD facilities to lower the cost of operations, reduce environmental impact, and improve HSE.
- Performing material balance on gathering system to ensure volumetric data is correct for accounting and the system is operational.
- Managing active alarms within control room management guidelines.
- Troubleshooting operational problems, working with field operations to resolve issues.
- Troubleshooting instrumentation and working with I/E staff to resolve issues.
- Troubleshooting SCADA software and infrastructure.
- Working with the SCADA team to test new development and provide feedback on existing SCADA implementation.
- Documenting operation events in an electronic logbook.
- Issuing work orders and delivering daily guidance for route planning.
- Participating in all areas EH&S programs and initiatives.
- Conducting virtual site visits to facilities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Have 5+ years’ experience working as a lease operator, artificial lift technician, I/E technician, or control room operator preferred.
- Have 3+ years’ experience of SCADA system experience preferred.
- Be able to work well with others in a team environment.
- Be able ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Have excellent computer skills with proficiencies in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Be able to apply common-sense understanding to daily tasks/issues.
- Forthright communication with management and field when it comes to issues, resolutions, required manpower, equipment, etc.
- Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Must be able to travel to field locations if and when needed.
Working Conditions/Environment:
- Operates in a professional and/or business casual office environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position.
- Shift includes rotational day and night shifts (6:00am – 6:00pm & 6:00pm – 6:00am)
- Day and night shifts rotate monthly
- Schedule is 5/5/4 (5 days on, 5 days off, 4 days on, then repeat)
