Description
The Sales Manager is responsible for one-on-one field sales, sales training, and development. This role needs to spend 60% of their time in the field working on achieving sales outcomes. Internal sales rep development should consist of approximately 20% of the Sales Manager’s time and should include weekly account tracking reviews with reps, Monday check-ins, weekly sales meetings, pricing strategy meetings as needed, weekly account reviews, and monthly RAPs. Administrative time, management meetings, department meetings, weekly RAP with the Co-President, emails, planning, inventory and other miscellaneous issues should account for the remaining 20% of the Sales Manager’s time.
The Sales Manager will strive to ensure the Company maintains current accounts while developing an adequate percentage of net new customers.
Responsibilities
• Set pace, lead, and motivate sales team in day-to-day operations• Ensure sales reps have a full pipeline at all times• Strive for improvement and growth of the sales department personnel• Obtain 100% of the annual MFO and MPS revenue & profit budget plans.• Assist in the development of the Company-wide business plan• Work seamlessly with Service, Administration, Finance to assist in those departments’ success• Recruit, interview, and select the right candidates for hire• Represent the division to major manufacturers, community leaders, and industry experts• Stay up to date on product/technology trends and changes• Manage departmental costs within guidelines with monthly P&L review to budgets• Make ever decision based on Company Mission and Vision and with the Company’s best interests in mind
Experience & Required Skills
• Strong sales management experience• Ability to function independently and produce results that meet standards of quality, timeliness, and acceptability• Strong people skills to effectively interact with a variety of personalities diplomatically and cooperatively• Ability to sell vision up and downstream internally• Ability to work effectively within a team environment with skill to organize various groups of people• Willingness to make unpopular decisions in carrying out responsibilities and take decisive action often without precedent• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to initiate contact with strangers• Ability to overcome objections and skill to persuade others to own point of view• Vision to plan ahead on a large scale and motivating power to get people to act• Capacity to cope with interruptions and change and ability to solve grievances
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time• Ability to occasionally stand, stoop, bend, and kneel• Manual dexterity to use hands and fingers to handle, control computer and telephone keyboard• Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents• Ability to regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand• Ability to understand the speech of others• Occasionally lift 10-30 pounds
