Summary of Position Responsibilities:
KAEKO is seeking an Accountant III. This Accountant III is responsible for providing support by managing daily accounting activities, improving financial information, managing job costing needs, responding to customer issues, solving problems, and providing/reviewing financial reporting related to our company’s activities. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences.
- Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
- Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
- Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
- Assist in onboarding new vendors and monitoring contractual requirements.
- Process high volumes of progressive and hourly based invoicing in various client platforms.
- Manage filing of preliminary notices, maintain waivers and filing of mechanics liens.
- Process all daily entries of accounts receivable and payable.
- Assist in collections.
- Understand and adhere to contractual requirements with clients.
- Work with internal staff to ensure proper compliance with client accounting requirements.
- Maintain company information in a secure and confidential manner.
- Contribute to team & company initiatives.
- Advise others on financial matters.
- Develop business or financial information systems.
- Provide mentoring and training to junior level accounting staff and Project Managers.
- Manage accounting team and department.
Minimum Requirements:
- 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a minimum of 4 years in the construction industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks
- Advanced experience working in Teams, Outlook, Excel and word.
- Expert level knowledge of job costing accounting.
- Advance knowledge and application of GAAP principles, standards, and procedures.
- Strong understanding and articulate general construction terminology.
- Capable of communicating effectively with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates
- Collaborate with direct and indirect teams.
- Expert level of understanding of compliance on all local, state and federal financial regulations.
- Experience in managing a team of 2 or more junior level account staff.
