As a Senior Project Architect, you will lead the technical process and documentation through all project phases, including the development of deliverables and the documentation of design solutions required by both the project’s design and the local governing code. This team member is able to lead large and complex-scale project scopes and manage large teams with various experience levels. This role must have a deep understanding of design and construction and experience working with large teams, interfacing with client groups and leading activities on site.
What you will do
- Lead the development of technical solutions, coordination, and production efforts on a wide range of large and complex projects, through all phases of the design, in an iterative and collaborative design process.
- On large scale projects, provide leadership and management to project architects ensuring coordination between teams.
- Lead collaboration and manage expectations with client team providing clear feedback bi-directionally between the broader internal team and client groups.
- Encourage and apply regenerative approaches to design and performance of the built, social, and natural environments.
- Motivate the project team to provide their best by supporting team member development and growth through thoughtful task assignment.
- Manage collaboration with related disciplines (consultants and contractors) for best design outcomes.
- Participate with project management and project teams on CA processes, on-site observations, and verifications.
- Participate in the project pursuit process by providing, preparing, and reviewing content for proposals/interviews and participating in interviews.
- Direct and ensure QA/QC process is done timely and fully. Lead code review and identify and resolve special code conditions.
- Lead all technical aspects of the project while supporting design and project success metrics.
- Lead coordination and engagement with specs team.
- Lead design and validation of the envelope systems.
- Lead communication as needed with local AHJ.
- Maintain responsible control over technical submissions when required to sign and seal documents.
- Accountable for a complete and quality set of architectural documents that meet contract requirements.
- Accountable for input on architectural detailing and documentation standards across the firm.
What we look for
- Bachelor/Master's Degree in Design/Architecture. Licensed in at least one state preferred.
- 18+ years of overall industry experience, 10 years of healthcare industry experience required, and successful completion of at least five projects in the role of project architect or comparable.
- Proven track record in the state of CA with OSHPD/HCAI experience.
- Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Revit/BIM 360, Rhino, Enscape, Lumion.
$120,000 - $165,000 a yearCompensation provided is based on our national range which varies by work location and may also depend on accreditation, experience and responsibilities.
