Full-timeDescriptionThe Quality Engineer position works in direct support of the essential functions described in this job description. Objectives include but are not limited to meeting departmental metrics with regards to Audit Performance, Rework Reduction, Escape Reduction, PPM, Warranty as a % of Sales, TAT, OTD, Budget, and Customer Satisfaction.

Quality Engineer


Essential Functions


  • Assists with the maintenance of Special Process program requirements.
  • Hosting of 3rd Party Audits
  • Training and qualification support for Special Process Operators
  • Responding to 3rd Party Audit findings
  • Ensures that the Quality Management System conforms to regulatory & legal requirements. (FAA, EASA, CAAC, AS9100, AS13100, AS9145)
  • Experience with Six Sigma Tools: Control Charts, FMEA, Process Flow Charts, Value Stream Maps Etc.
  • Strong aptitude of machining and special processes
  • Ability to make informed decisions and drive positive change by teaming with other disciplines in the manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain and control supplier approvals and renewals.
  • Ability to multi-task across several challenging projects while maintaining progress of completion.
  • Leads Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities, both internal and external.
  • Desire to be a part of making and driving effective changes for improvement in efficiency and product quality.
  • Performs Internal Audit activities.
  • Provides training as needed in support of adherence to standards
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures.
  • Any other assignments provided by the Director of Quality.

Requirements

Quality Engineer Requirements


  • Experience with machining and special processes.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 Aerospace Standard.
  • Effective computer skills in databases, spreadsheets, word processors and process mapping software.
  • Experience as a lead auditor, developing audit checklists, assigning, and monitoring corrective actions.

Quality Engineer Preferences


  • Prior Special Process, certifications, SCA etc.
  • APQP and PPAP experience
  • AS9145 experience
