Developer
Developers provide assistance for continuous improvement throughout the development life cycle. In this role the Developer would write clean code, address complex bugs and app enhancements. The Developer works with more senior level Developers and Development Team Leads to improve their skill set and application knowledge in order to create a more robust application, as well as more junior developers to improve their’s. This role includes development of both front end and back end logic, as well as database queries and database schema maintenance.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users.
- Handles development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensures high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
- Develops and integrates front-end elements with the back end.
- Responsible for the Integration of user-facing elements.
- Builds efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules.
- Works with team leads to solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
- Works with team leads to manages and update database schemas.
- Works with the Product team on scoping requirements and project sizing estimates.
- Works with more junior developers, training and educating them on proper development practices.
- Works with the Support team to handle advanced support tickets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education & Work Experience:
- HIgh School Diploma or GED Equivalent; Advanced education preferred.
- Three (3) to Seven (7) years prior work experience developing PHP applications.
- Experience working in a SaaS environment or similar technical platform.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Moderate knowledge and understanding of PHP.
- Moderate knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming and common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions is a plus.
- Moderate understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application and MVC design patterns.
- Knowledge of Laravel, knowledge of version 10 is a plus.
- Moderate understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Knowledge of VueJS is a plus.
- Knowledge of Bootstrap and specifically version 5 a plus.
- Moderate knowledge of MySQL and using SQL.
- Familiarity with Linux and command line interface tools such as vi and ssh.
- Good understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
- Understanding of Jira and tools within it.
- Good understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
- Good Communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Keen attention to detail with strong analytical skills and demonstrated track record of effective problem solving skills and abilities.
- Must be a self-starter, who is creative and an innovative thinker and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others (all levels of employees and external customers), and maintain a professional demeanor when under pressure.
- Able to juggle many technical and administrative tasks, all with a sense of urgency, simultaneously and accurately.
