With general supervision, the Quality Inspector is responsible to ensure that repaired parts meet the minimum quality standards as established by both the FAA and our customers.
Essential Functions:
- Perform dimensional and visual inspection requirements utilizing drawings, OEM manuals, and/or written instructions
- Record and document findings legibly and precisely
- Perform minor disassembly and assembly in accordance with inspection requirements
- Follow all company policies including safety instructions
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices
- Working knowledge of FAA requirements for repair stations (14 CFR Part 145 and Part 43)
- Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions
- Assist with continuous improvement and cost reduction programs
- Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs
- Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the inspection of aircraft components
- Proper use of micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, CMM’s, and other basic inspection tools
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and interpret dimensional drawings and OEM manuals
Preferred Education and Experience:
- NDT Level 2 Certification
- A&P Mechanic, or prior holder of Repairman Certificate
- Prior experience in issuing 8130-3’s
