Cuningham seeks an Architect to join our Healthcare team, to share in our purpose and choose to design for social and ecological well-being. Join us as we design solutions that are insightful, well-coordinated, and uniquely fitted to their place and purpose.
This position will work with interdisciplinary teams across the U.S. to support Cuningham’s purpose. This role will be responsible for performing a variety of assignments in all aspects of architectural design from project conception to construction completion. They will demonstrate sound knowledge of architectural principles and practices, taking initiative in contributing to both the design and documentation. Prepare and develop design concepts and studies as well as preparing design presentation materials.
What you will do
- Engage in developing design and technical solutions, coordination, and production efforts on a wide range of projects through all phases of the design, in an iterative and collaborative design process through simple sketching, 2D and 3D modeling, as well as computational methods in alignment with project success metrics.
- Apply regenerative approaches to design and performance of the built, social, and natural environments.
- Plan, develop, and participate in design presentations.
- Develop and document projects through both creative design and technical detailing.
- Collaborate with related disciplines (consultants and contractors) for best design outcomes.
- Coordinate BIM models and documentation internally and with consultants, contractors, etc.
- Participate in construction administration activities with Project Architect and on-site staff.
- Assist project management and design teams with on-site observations and verifications.
- Be accountable for quality work in assigned focus area of the project.
- Participate in code review.
- Research exterior materials and products.
- Research and become proficient with wall assemblies, waterproofing and vertical circulation.
- Support and perform exterior massing studies as well as site studies with Landscape Architecture.
- Support and perform interior space planning and programming with Interior Design.
- Coordinate with Specifications team.
What we look for
- An accredited professional architecture degree (bachelors or masters).
- 6+ years' experience, working in an Architecture firm.
- Licensed in at least one state, preferred. If unlicensed, the role title will not be Architect.
- Healthcare design experience is required.
- Proficiency in Revit and Office 365 required. Skills in other software such as Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. are ideal.
- Ability to be on client/construction sites in the local Los Angeles area.
- Strong architectural technical and documentation skills.
- Strong graphic design and presentation skills.
- General knowledge of building and zoning codes.
- LEED accreditation or other green building experience/wellness certification is preferred.
$80,000 - $110,000 a yearCompensation provided is based on our national range which varies by work location and may also depend on accreditation, experience and responsibilities.
