Full-timeDescriptionCoordinate the activity of obtaining goods and services at the most cost-effective price and delivery consistent with quality, quantity, and specifications requirements. Responsible for the management of production orders in accordance with customer delivery date requirements. Maintain PO system information to ensure minimum cost and inventory in support of customer service objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Negotiate, create and manage purchase orders from issuance through payment and purchase order closure, for planned orders, spot buys, and repair services (OSP)
- Ensure sourcing base and materials comply with all agency requirements and revisions and approved supplier list.
- Perform supplier evaluations to drive price, quality and on time delivery.
- Ensure that purchase orders are released to Quality-approved supply partners.
- Maintain the optimization of the MRP systems to drive the correct actions to meet inventory objectives for assigned parts.
- Issue purchase order delivery date and QTY changes in alignment with customer demand changes (push outs and pull ins), to manage inventory.
- Expedite deliveries and when necessary, recommend, validate, and execute for alternate materials/services if delivery is not available when required.
- Provide backup buying/planning for other supply chain team members.
- Interface and support Customer Service, Quality, Engineering, Operations and Facilities in material/service procurement needs for approved requisitions.
- Review, maintain, and update parts’ status reports, keeping Operations and Customer Programs informed of critical delivery dates in support of customer on time delivery.
- Maintain a working relationship with all production technicians and understand production- related material needs to keep lines running at all times.
- Be a cross functional representative to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, improve cycle time lead time and on time delivery.

Requirements
Aerospace Buyer Requirements:
- 1-3 Years related experience purchasing
- Preferred Education and Experience:
- Syteline or other ERP system experience
- APICS certified
- Aerospace experience
- Strong Excel skills
