Job Description:
The Yield Analyst is an expert at analyzing data working behind the scenes as a specialist and a point of escalation to support both internal and external customers. They go a layer deeper than just looking at revenue and impressions. An ideal candidate in this role will have a deep understanding of programmatic advertising and can uncover trends, abnormalities, and technical issues from evidence buried within a dataset. This individual is a problem solver and a storyteller who can analyze the most complex data set and make sense of it and can recommend an appropriate course of action.
A well-qualified candidate will be able to balance both the reactive and proactive nature of the programmatic advertising industry by providing deep analyses as needed while creating and maintaining an effective alerting system.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a point of escalation for the Customer Success team for all matters related to revenue performance.
- Provide data-driven recommendations as needed to ensure our Customer Success team has the best chance to optimize revenue for our publishers.
- Make recommendations for individual site/publisher based on trends and each publisher’s unique KPIs as needed.
- Work closely with the Publisher Support team to solve requests surfaced from the Customer Success team. Work flows in both ways between these teams. At times, data informs us of a technical issue and other times data analysis is needed to track down technical issues.
- Perform regular audits of sites in order to provide our publishers with data-driven product recommendations, layout adjustments, and to help push company initiatives requiring adoption.
- Keep up to date on industry trends and identify new revenue opportunities for our publishers and our product team.
- Collaborate with the Product and Data Science teams in order to inform and improve our product offerings, provide uplift analyses, and assist in the monitoring and provide feedback for automated yield tools.
- Maintain reporting tools and alerts to support proactive management of publisher performance for the Customer Success team by working closely with the Business Intelligence team.
- Monitor alerts in order to identify individual publisher trends proactively.
- Provide support to the Demand team through data analysis and regular audits to ensure we are getting the most out of our demand relationships.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of yield experience for a programmatic publisher, SSP, or related sell-side company
- Demonstrable knowledge of yield practices with proven results
- 2+ years of programmatic and header bidding experience
- Strong expertise within Google ad products including Google Ad Manager and Google Analytics
- SQL language experience is a plus
- Preferably some experience working with Looker or other BI visual reporting tools
- Ability to work with multiple teams and take ownership of projects from start to finish
- Capable of reviewing large data sets and making revenue impacting recommendations from it
- Ability to follow specific processes and workflows, handle multiple projects at one time and adhere to deadlines
