The GreenLight platform allows us to research, design, and manufacture across multiple product categories including insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides.  For more information, visit www.greenlightbio.com.Reporting to the VP Sales and Marketing, you will be responsible for pre-launch activities and sales of the GreenLight fruit and vegetables portfolio in the territory of Mexico and Central America.  The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of special fruit and vegetable crops in the territory from both an agricultural background and education as well as experience in a similar role.  Full fluency in both Spanish as well as English is a must, as is a knowledge of the latest trends in plant protection (synthetic chemical, biological, biostimulant, nutrition, and cultural practices).

Needless to say excellent communication and customer service skills are a must. 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Achieving sales, profit, and market share targets with channel partners, key producers and other customers within the assigned territory as part of the overall sales and marketing plan
  • Continually meeting with customers and key stakeholders, via extensive travel throughout the assigned territory, to keep one’s finger on the pulse of the market. This is very much a field-orientated position. 
  • Conducting customer and grower local field days, attendance at trade shows, key account and end-user tours and product launch events
  • Conduct extensive training in timing and application of GreenLight products
  • After sales and service
  • Maintaining solid working relationships with key stakeholders, growers and academic influencers in the territory
  • Annual budget and marketing plan submission

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in agriculture with 4 year’s of proven experience in a similar special crop role
  • Understanding of the retail and distribution structure for plant health products
  • Knowledge of agronomics, general cropping practices, agricultural technology and trends and requirements for pest control.
  • Fluency in English as well as Spanish, both written and oral
  • Supplemental sales courses or training a plus
  • Ability to travel 60% of the year in your territory, up to 75% in periods
  • Ability to travel to USA once per month
  • Preferably located in one of the primary fruit and vegetable producing States of the Pacific Coast of Mexico (e.g. Baja, Sonora, Sinaloa, Navarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan, etc…).
