Mactores seeks a skilled AWS Data Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will ensure the quality and reliability of our data engineering solutions deployed on the AWS platform. As an integral part of our data engineering team, you will collaborate closely with developers, data engineers, and quality assurance professionals to design and implement comprehensive test strategies and frameworks. The role requires a strong background in automation testing and proficiency in AWS services related to data engineering.

What you will do?


  • Work on testing initiatives, emphasizing the implementation and execution of automation test cases.
  • Develop automated test cases to assess ETL processes during and after upgrades, covering data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability testing of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses on the AWS platform.
  • Ensure automated test cases cover the entire application pipeline, from individual components to end-to-end processes, ensuring comprehensive testing coverage.
  • Evaluate the application's integration with PySpark, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Timestream, Flink, and Kafka.
  • Assess the application's integration with other components, ensuring accurate data flow and transformation between different stages and seamless communication and operation across the entire application ecosystem.
  • Work closely with development teams to understand the upgrade processes, collaborate on creating practical test cases, and design the testing strategy accordingly. 
  • Proactively enhance and optimize automated pipeline testing processes, incorporating best practices to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Generate comprehensive reports detailing test results and provide clear documentation of test cases, methodologies, and automation frameworks.

What are we looking for?


  • 3+ years of experience as an AWS Data Test Engineer, demonstrating successful leadership in automation testing initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in designing and implementing automated test cases, specifically focused on during and post-upgradation testing of the data flow and pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in designing and implementing automated test cases, focusing on ETL processes involving PySpark, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Flink, Timestream, and Kafka.
  • Experience in creating and managing test cases that cover the entire application pipeline, ensuring comprehensive testing coverage.
  • In-depth knowledge of automation testing tools, ETL principles, processes, and frameworks.
  • Understanding of application integration principles and the ability to assess interactions with PySpark, Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Flink, and Kafka components.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services related to data engineering, such as Amazon S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, and Lambda.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes, is desirable.
