Qualified candidates have the skills to design and architect backend services and APIs that are scalable, resilient, and maintainable. The candidate must also be team-oriented and have the strong interpersonal skills required to collaborate within their own team and with external stakeholders.What You’ll Do With Us
- Work with engineers on your team to design and implement new backend services and APIs to serve as the technical foundation for our core product
- Build data pipelines to conduct AI-powered data processing of audio, video, and text
- Create technical documentation to enable Product Engineers to leverage Platform Engineering backend services
- Work with Engineering leadership to understand the needs of the organization to help drive prioritization decisions for Platform Engineering initiatives
- Leverage various technologies, including TypeScript, NodeJS, SQL, Terraform, Docker, and AWS
- Help migrate legacy PHP backend services to modern technologies
What You’ve Done Before:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience building web-based software applications or services
- Owned large software projects and initiatives – from requirements gathering, to implementation, to testing and acceptance
- Implemented foundational backend services to support external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical challenges, identify innovative solutions, and implement effective solutions
- Played a pivotal role in defining and shaping software architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Strong advocate for coding best practices, including testing, performance, and security
- Worked alongside both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders
Bonus qualifications
- Experience or desire to do work leveraging AI technologies
- Experience with queue-based or message-based data processing
