About the Role
Data Science at Vidyard is aimed at using data, analytics, and sciences to improve various aspects of our business. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Research and Development team, leading experimentation and advanced data science needs. This role will be partnering closely with our Product, Go to Market and Finance stakeholders to drive data informed decisions by building predictive models, conducting statistical analysis and deriving business insights. This is a unique opportunity to have a high level of impact by establishing the data science discipline at a growing company.This is a remote role open to candidates located in Canada.
What You’ll Work On
- Lead the design, analysis, and interpretation of experiments that shape decision-making for the Vidyard strategy
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms
- Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth and optimization
- Drive and implement high impact projects end to end
- Partner with our Vidyard stakeholders (Product, Finance, RevOps and Engineering) on advanced analytic initiatives (e.g., prediction modeling, causal inference, experimentation etc)
- Present your research and insights to executive stakeholders
- Work with business stakeholders to connect analysis to key decisions that affect the business to influence and drive impact
- Balance handling ad hoc requests while also driving larger projects forward
What You’ll Bring to this Role and Your New Team:
- 7+ years of experience in data science with a strong background in statistical modelling, machine learning, and data analysis
- Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- You have statistical skills utilized in A/B testing, analyzing observational data, and statistical modelling
- You are comfortable working with large data sets and analyzing complex data with SQL and other tools such as AWS Redshift, DBT and Cube.
- You have good business acumen on product innovations and excellent problem solving skills to translate business requirements to data science problems
- You have a strong bias to action, delivering results quickly with iteration instead of waiting for perfection
- You are a fast learner and are comfortable with ambiguous requests
- You have exceptional communication skills and can manage stakeholder priorities directly
