We are always looking for talented people to join our team.Legalist is seeking a diligent Head of Investment Operations to join its innovative and growing team. Overseeing 500+ investments across niche strategies like litigation finance, DIP financing, and government receivables, the Head of Operations will implement novel processes for unique asset classes and investment structures.
The head of Operations will bring operational expertise and first-principles thinking to drive excellence, and will work directly with our CIO and co-founder to shape the future of alternative investments.
Responsibilities
- Innovative Implementation: Partner with Portfolio Managers to design and implement cutting-edge processes, while continuously validating and refining existing ones to stay ahead in the industry.
- Continuous Improvement: Maintain a meticulous error log to identify areas for enhancement, driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Act swiftly to address any operational challenges. This includes creating and delivering additional training, reworking processes, and providing guidance to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Strategic Evaluation: Regularly assess and enhance processes and procedures for accuracy and efficiency, ensuring our operations are always at their peak performance.
Qualifications
- People Management Experience: You've managed teams before and know how to get the best out of people.
- Detail-Oriented: You love getting into the weeds of the day-to-day and can take a player-coach approach to leading others. You should be extremely organized and possess strong time management skills.
- Proven Experience: 10-15 years in a highly operational organization where smooth operations are key. Experience in the asset management, wealth advisory, and/or RIA industry is a huge plus.
- High EQ: You have the emotional intelligence to work well with others at varying levels of seniority when implementing processes, always keeping in mind the common goal. You’re well-versed in building rapport across teams and maintaining consistent adherence to procedures.
