About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for our data warehouse. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data infrastructure, which supports critical business operations across various divisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing teams that deliver impactful data solutions.
Day to Day:
- Manage Databricks Environment: Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of our Databricks environment to support the organization's data processing needs efficiently and reliably.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance on technical issues, project execution, and career development.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize projects, and deliver data solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Data Pipeline Development: Design and implement robust data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources into meaningful insights and actionable business metrics.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Data Governance and Security: Implement and enforce data governance policies and security best practices to ensure data integrity, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Technical Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data engineering, providing technical leadership and guidance on adopting new technologies and methodologies.
What you bring to the table:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in managing and optimizing Databricks environments.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and their data services
- Expertise in designing and building data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Leadership Skills:
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to delivering solutions.
It would be great if you also had:
- Experience working with data science teams and an understanding of the model development process.
- A proven track record of leading large-scale projects while balancing the day-to-day needs of the business stakeholders.

Pay range for this position is $150,000 - $225,000 on-target earnings per year but may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
