POSITION SUMMARY


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our Process Development team. In this role, you will support day-to-day operations in our laboratory, contributing to various research projects. Primary responsibilities include materials media preparation, cell culture, documentation and record keeping, and general laboratory maintenance tasks. Opportunities for growth in this position include handling porcine gametes and embryos, preparing for porcine SCNT procedures, cell culture techniques, and operating various types of laboratory equipment.

The ideal candidate should have experience in mammalian cell or embryo culture and basic laboratory techniques. Experience handling mammalian embryos, and gametes is a plus but not required. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Operate and manage various laboratory equipment, including microscopes, incubators, BSL-2 laminar flow hood, pH meter, osmometer, etc. 
  • Prepare and maintain an inventory of culture media and other solutions to support cell and embryo culture experiments 
  • Perform cell and/or embryo culture and maintain cell lines to support various research projects 
  • Handle and process biologic samples with high precision, including receiving and shipping of these samples 
  • Enter experiments into electronic notebook 
  • Adhere to guidelines for personnel and laboratory safety and environment protection 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS


  • BS/MS degree in animal science, biology, or a related discipline 
  • Minimally 2 years of experience at an academia or industry setting, particularly in mammalian cell or embryo culture. 
  • Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently in a result-oriented, dynamic environment 
  • Willing to collaborate and contribute to team goals 
  • Excellent communication skills
