About the Role
We are seeking a Corporate Controller to lead and build our accounting operations. You will be responsible for all accounting matters and take ownership of the financial close process, oversee management of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, improve our internal controls and processes, manage our external tax relationship, provide insight into emerging accounting regulations, collaborate across all departments, prepare key financial data and analysis for management reporting, and assist in other special reporting projects as needed.
This role will entail hands-on management of accounting and reporting.
What you'll be doing:
- Own and lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and the end-to-end financial close process, implementing procedures to deliver results efficiently and accurately
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections, fixed assets, development costs, equity-based and token-based compensation, and payroll
- Establish and improve accounting processes and framework for internal controls, design for scalability and growth, including the development of key deliverables (financial analyses, reconciliations, management reporting)
- Lead all technical accounting matters including the preparation of technical memorandum and analyses, and staying apprised on new accounting regulations
- Manage the preparation, review and filing of all tax returns by working closely with external tax consultants
- Supervise, support, and develop the accounting team, setting clear goals and expectations in line with company objectives
- Work collaboratively across all departments to understand and support key initiatives, and provide support for all products and services
- Identify and assess the impact of business issues that may have accounting and finance implications, and communicate and involve the appropriate corporate function.
- Interface with senior management and other departments to review financial performance, explain and control variances and assist in achievement and tracking of financial objectives.
- Providing strategic financial input and assisting on decision making issues affecting the organization
- Position the company to complete its first external financial audit by creating a framework on sound accounting policies and procedures
- Evaluate accounting software and develop roadmap of key systems and integrations required to drive automation and efficiency across the entire company, including the implementation of a new ERP system

What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree with an Accounting, and/or Finance emphasis and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPA and Big 4 accounting experience required
- 10-12 years of experience in accounting
- Industry experience required, with SaaS/startup and Crypto/Web 3 experiences preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy and procedure manuals

The base salary range for this full-time position is $197k-$250k. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and typical maximum target for new hire salaries for the position of a candidate based in the Bay Area at any level. We do hire exceptionally talented professionals with decades of experience in their field. As such, our range may be higher than what is displayed. Our base salary ranges are determined by experience and location, and we hire at all levels for multiple roles.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills demonstrated during the interviews, working experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include equity, tokens, or benefits.
