We are actively seeking a Field Application Engineerbased in California/Silicon Valley. The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) is Kandou’s field-based technical expert who leads detailed technical discussions with customers, identifies customer problems and aligns Kandou’s IP and silicon solutions to solve these problems. The FAE is the technical liaison between customers and Kandou and works closely with Sales to evangelize Kandou’s technologies and help drive customer adoption. It is a requirement to have direct skills with customers, high speed SerDes, USB and PCIe.Responsibility
- Work closely with Sales to identify/anticipate customer opportunities
- Summarize and communicate customer technical issues into Kandou Engineering and Sales
- Prepare white papers, application notes and other technical documents and presentations for Kandou’s technology
- Crisply summarize and communicate customer technical issues into Kandou Engineering and drive resolution
- Develop expert level of using Kandou’s products and eco-system, including intimate knowledge of tools, hardware and firmware
- Assist Kandou Engineering in development of reference designs for customers
- Working in customer labs with customer engineers
- Working closely with Kandou technology partners and industry bodies
- Supporting compliance testing at standard body trade shows and partner programs
- Supporting customers through all of stages of their product life cycle
- Presenting technical pre-sales collateral to assist in the design process
- Owning customer sockets and driving their projects from EVT through to mass production
- Demonstrating Kandou solutions at customers, trade shows and conferences
- Establishing strong relationships with customer engineering, procurement and management teams through demonstrable technical expertise
Required Experience
- Experience working directly with customers in high speed systems
- Strong track record of high-speed design support
- Understanding of key-signal integrity challenges/solutions for high-speed designs
- Familiarity with schematic capture and performing customer high speed system design reviews
- Protocol knowledge (USB, PCIe, CXL, Ethernet)
- Highly responsive and problem solver
- Knowledge of PCIe BMC software, Intel C-scripts, AMDXIO and/or USB power delivery firmware is a bonus
- Competent working in embedded environments or with operating systems and capable of supporting integration/configuration of device drivers
Required Skills
- Highly responsive, problem solver and team player
- Self-motivated, with strong sense of ownership and strong drive to help customers succeed
- Scripting skills (Python preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both internally and directly with customers, in person and in writing
- Capable of multi-tasking in a dynamic customer environment
- Master’s degree in EE, CE, or CS
Other:
- Located in Silicon Valley/CA and willing to travel (up to 25%) in North America and occasionally to Kandou’s design centers in Switzerland and UK.
