JOB SUMMARY 


The Calibration Technician is responsible to the QMS Quality Manager for the identification, scheduling, reporting, specification compliance and calibration of all equipment within the Skills Inc. calibration program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES


•Manage equipment calibration recall program.•Develop and improve equipment calibration procedures.•Support internal/external audits to ensure compliance to governing requirements.•Calibrate manufacturing, chemical processing and test and measurement equipment.   •Schedule and conduct equipment calibrations to support delivery schedules.•Identify and propose cost reduction measures i.e. equipment upgrades, reduced downtime, etc.•Assist with the Skills preventive maintenance program.•Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.•Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.•Follow work rules and standard safety regulations at all times.•Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIICATIONS


•Proficient in the interpretation and application of AMS 2750, ASTM E 18, BAC 5621, BAC 5651, BSS 7039, and ISO 10012.•Use of basic measuring and calibration equipment. •Shop math skills.•Proficient in Windows, MS Office, and MS Visio.•Excellent interpersonal skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities.•Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.•Adaptable to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.•Accepting of criticism and ability to deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations.•Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.•Ability to travel within the Puget Sound Region.•U.S.

Person status required due to export control.

LANGUAGE SKILLS


•Ability to read work instructions and procedures in English.•Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.  •Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English.    •Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology. •Ability to follow and understand written and verbal instructions in English.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


•High School Diploma•Minimum 4 years equipment calibration experience.

SALARY PAY RANGE


Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Skills Inc. is a self-supporting Social Enterprise and is organized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit. We have four lines of business; Aerospace Manufacturing, Aerospace Finishing, Technical Services, and Business Solutions, that operate in 3 locations. Skills Inc. employs over 250 people and our social mission is to train, employ and serve persons with disabilities.

We accomplish our mission three ways; direct hire, vocational programs and services, and as a resource to the community.

Salary Range: $17.00-$45.00
