As a
Data Management Specialist at Prezzee, you will be responsible for documenting our data sources, flows, transformations, repositories, and assets, ensuring their accuracy and fitness for business use. You will define and build out key processes to capture metadata throughout the data flow from upstream source systems to intermediate warehouses and end use cases and assets (reports, dashboards, analysis).
This is a 12 month fixed term role. Sydney hybrid based role.
General Responsibilities:
- Understand and document data flows across Prezzee’s data ecosystem.
- Document schemas, tables, and fields of source systems and transformations (dbt, Stitch) to our AWS Redshift data warehouse and Looker dashboarding environment.
- Document key business metrics used by stakeholders from across the organisation (Product, Strategy, Marketing, and Customer Care).
- Identify and remediate missing, incomplete, or conflicting documentation of business metrics at both technical (data dictionaries) and business levels (data glossaries).
- Create the capability to easily track data and impacts downstream (from source) and upstream (from end asset).
- Identify data quality issues and their causes.
- Collaborate with Prezzee’s technology and product teams to understand upstream changes and enhancements and their impact on the data platform and assets.
- Present data-driven findings and recommendations to the business in a clear and actionable format.
- Work directly with management teams to gather requirements, scope, and prioritise work, and provide regular status updates.
- Know the right questions to ask different stakeholders to get the outcomes required.
- Provide thought and technical leadership.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Write clear, easy-to-understand, and accurate documentation on our data and workflows.
- Maintain the processes that support our master data management approach.
- Evaluate existing processes for inefficiencies, problems, and inaccuracies, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Document data definitions, transformations, and flows.
- Identify data quality issues.
- Suggest opportunities for improvement.
About You:
- Highly dedicated ethos with a strong sense of accountability for your work.

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data management roles.
- Hands-on experience creating and executing data management processes.
- Ability to analyse complex data platforms.
- Ability to write comprehensive documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An analytical mind with an inclination for problem-solving.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience programming in SQL, Python, or similar languages.
- Working knowledge of dbt and Talend Stitch, AWS Redshift.
- Proficiency in business process creation.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools.
