In this role, you will contribute to an enterprise pipeline of predictive models, experiments and evaluations built on large data sets across the health and social care space. The Data Science team supports functions across Unite Us including Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Research & Evaluation, Payments and Marketing. Deliverables will be both client-facing and internal and will range from predictive modeling, to impact analysis, to generative AI applications. The Data Scientist needs to be a strong team player, as well as an influencer within the company and beyond. This position combines a unique blend of leadership and practical quantitative output.

What You'll Do:
- Drive development of predictive models by identifying and leveraging both internal and external data sources and creating tools that support referral decision-making, understand person-level and community needs, and efficient care delivery.
- Own product innovation by identifying new ways data science can be used to support key enterprise initiatives.
- Work hand-in-hand with our Machine Learning Engineering team to build an enterprise-scale ML pipeline.
- Use your software engineering skills to develop applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) to meet a variety of business needs
- Partner with Business Development, Product and Engineering to understand our partners and the health and social care data landscape
- This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of the founding team focused on data expansion across the country; helping health systems, health plans, life sciences companies and CBOs realize their SDOH data strategy.
You’re a great fit for this role if:
- At least 5+ years experience with modern programming languages (Python, R, SQL) and tools/ libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, etc) used in data science.
- Robust understanding of the statistical foundation of machine learning and experience with experiment design and causal inference.
- Experience with natural language processing (NLP) techniques, including the use, evaluation, and deployment of Large Language Models
- Experience scaling work from R&D to a production predictive pipeline built on a modern stack.
- Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn software technologies such as Google Suite, Zoom, Slack, HubSpot, Asana, etc.
- Experience with healthcare data and analytics is preferred.

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
- This position is remote, U.S.-based
- The target pay range for this role is: $130,000-$160,000. This salary range represents our target hiring range for this role. The proposed salary will be dependent on the candidate's skills, experience, and competencies, as well as location.
- All team members will be required to pass a background check which includes criminal, employment, and education verification
