JOB SUMMARY
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Anodizer to join our team. The ideal candidate will control anodizing equipment to provide corrosion resistant surface to aluminum objects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTES
•Selects holding racks according to size, shape, and number of objects to be anodized.•Wires or clips objects to anodizing racks and immerses rack in series of cleaning, etching, and rinsing baths.•Positions objects in anodizing tank by suspending them from anode.•Estimates amount of electric current and time required to anodize material.•Turns rheostat to regulate flow of current.•Removes objects from tank after specified time, rinses objects, and immerses them in bath of hot water or dichromate solution to seal oxide coating.•Hangs objects on racks to air dry.•Immerses objects in dye bath to color them for decorative or identification purposes.•Anodizes work pieces with corrosion resistant material.•Coaches and mentors Finish Helpers in the Anodize Department.
•Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.•Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•6 months racking experience and prior Chem Treat Operator certification.•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. •Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.•Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.•Ability to identify, organize, estimate and recognize differences or similarities•Ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and communication styles•Ability to provide direction and guidance•Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
LANGUAGE SKILLS
•Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English. •Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

SALARY PAY RANGE
Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Skills Inc. is a self-supporting Social Enterprise and is organized as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit. We have four lines of business; Aerospace Manufacturing, Aerospace Finishing, Technical Services, and Business Solutions, that operate in 3 locations. Skills Inc. employs over 250 people and our social mission is to train, employ and serve persons with disabilities.
We accomplish our mission three ways; direct hire, vocational programs and services, and as a resource to the community.
Salary Range: $17.00-$31.00
