Scope:
We require 5 Business Consultants for 5 separate projects.
Project 1: Organization Transformation
Assist the organization with org design and associated activities related to evolving how we work as a team, defining operational processes, prepare communications, prepare job descriptions, change management, etc.
Project 2: Service Transformation
Assist the organization with defining services that are provided to the business clients. Defining those services, outlining expectations, measurements for success and implementing. Preparing communications, change management, etc.
Project 3: Point of Sale System Planning
Work with the business and the technology delivery organization to document the current state as it relates to the Point of Sale system, create a strategy and business case for the future options as well as any procurement related materials (if required).
Project 4: Establish Planning and Governance Practice
Work with the Strategy and Governance team to establish practices, processes and tools related to governance and strategic planning. Own and manage activities in this space, defining services, preparing communications, etc.
Project 5: Security Program
Work with the Security team to document the current state as it relates to the security ecosystem. Plan and deliver work related to policy, procurement, governance, practices, procedures, training, etc.
Duties:
- Lead, facilitate and document plans and priorities, aligning to Department vision;
- Identify projects to achieve this vision;
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and focus groups;
- Prepare and deliver presentations about initiatives or issues to executives and staff, steering committees, project groups and other stakeholders;
- Risk management and issues management
- Develop and execute change management plans and communication plans
- Develop business cases through a consultative approach with business sponsors and key stakeholders, identifying benefits and performance measure indicators;
- Document initiative/project backgrounds, descriptions, environmental analyses, financial modeling, alternatives, impacts, risks, cost-benefit analyses, recommendations, implementation strategies, and approval processes;
- Provide quality assurance services throughout to ensure completeness and consistency of documentation, which could include content review;
- Defining operational processes
- Creating job descriptions
- Service Design deliverables (definition, targets, measurement criteria, etc.)
Working Hours:
Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province
Notes on Location:
Work must be done from within Alberta, due to network and data security issues.
There is a possibility the resource may be able to work remotely, though must be available for onsite meetings when required. It is anticipated that there will be 1 working day or more in the office per week. Onsite meetings include but are not limited to strategic, architectural, and technical discussions, meeting with team members, senior managers, directors, executive directors and business clients. In the event of an onsite meeting, the client does not pay for travel to attend on-site meetings, nor any expenses related to relocation, commuting, housing/accommodation, food/drink.
