With a diverse team spanning twenty plus countries, our culture fosters openness and collaboration, making Infinite Commerce an exceptional place to work and grow. The Intellectual Property (IP) Compliance Analyst serves as a crucial member of the Legal team, reporting to the Associate Counsel, Intellectual Property & Regulatory Affairs. The IP Compliance Analyst plays a pivotal role in supportting the Legal department and other business units through the review of both new and existing consumer products across an ever-expanding set of categories, including toys, office, home décor, consumables, organization, accessories, and lifestyle in our portfolio. The IP Compliance Analyst is on the front line in terms of ensuring our products and marketing materials spresent across a variety of online marketplaces (i.e., Amazon, Walmart, Target) and other sales channels respect third party intellectual property rights and policies.

While ensuring we have a strong defensive posture, exceptional candidates will also help maintain our own portfolio of IP, including trademarks, copyrights and patents.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a full-time international contract opportunity working with a US based company with an indefinite period and not a full-time employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:


  • Research, interpret, summarize, monitor, and organize consumer product-related intellectual property and compliance issues and policies related to existing consumer products in our catalog of 20,000+ SKUs and new ideas and products in development as needed. 
  • Identify intellectual property issues and have a clear understanding of intellectual property law, including fair use, public domain, and other doctrines, and of related intellectual property policies to be able to work with Intellectual Property Counsel to assess and mitigate risks. 
  • Maintain calendar related to tracking of registered intellectual property rights, monitor progress of compliance initiatives and requirements, and prepare reports, as necessary. 
  • Maintain and where possible enhance internal processes, documentation and best practices, including, compiling, organizing and analyzing retail product reviews and our IP portfolio, including in Microsoft SharePoint folders. 
  • Assist Associate Counsel, IP & Regulatory Affairs in preparation of materials necessary for maintaining registered intellectual property rights for review and submission. 

Qualifications: 


  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience with intellectual property (i.e., copyrights, trademarks, and patents); preferably in an ecommerce, consumer products, retail business, or a closely related enterprise.
  • Bachelor's Degree in legal studies, business, or a closely related discipline demonstrating both critical thinking and analytical competency. Additional closely related work experience can be substituted for educational credentials on a year-for-year basis.
  • Ability to understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, and policies; Identify and analyze issues and elevate as appropriate. 
  • E-commerce, retail, and/or consumer products experience is preferred. 
  • Ability to be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands. 
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Extreme attention to detail, especially when communicating, analyzing, and applying legal and regulatory concepts. 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. 
  • High-level experience with office tools MS Word, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and various video conferencing tools (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.). 
  • English fluency, in written and spoken form, is essential.
