Chief of Staff, Commercialization
Modern Hydrogen Woodinville, WA - Full Time – Hybrid Modern Hydrogen is seeking a highly motivated and organized Chief of Staff to supercharge the efficiency and impact of our commercial team. Reporting directly to the VP of Business Development & Governmental Affairs, you will serve as a strategic thought partner and proxy for the VP, driving key initiatives, managing critical projects, and ensuring the seamless execution of the VP's priorities across the distributed team. Your primary mission is to create scalable processes, foster cross-functional alignment, and drive organizational development initiatives that maximize productivity and accelerate our growth. This is a hybrid role.
The Chief of Staff will be required to work on-site in our facility in Woodinville, WA 3+ days per week, be available at all hours of the day or night, travel 5-10 days per month, and attend quarterly company events in the Seattle area. Modern Hydrogen is a Seattle-based cleantech startup. We decarbonize natural gas into clean hydrogen at the point of use. With $100MM in venture capital raised from world-renowned investors including Bill Gates to support our vision, we are seeking best-in-class talent to accelerate our impact. Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the VP, providing insights, recommendations, and constructive feedback to shape the commercial team's direction and priorities
Foster cross-functional collaboration and communication, facilitating the flow of information and ensuring the VP's message is understood by key stakeholders
Develop and maintain administrative systems to ensure efficient decision-making, timely follow-up, and seamless execution of the VP's priorities
Design and implement organizational structures and processes that foster a high-performance culture of continuous improvement, empowering team members to reach their full potential
Drive the planning and execution of strategic initiatives, including internal and external relationship building, ensuring alignment with the VP's vision and the company's overall goals
Manage critical projects end-to-end, from ideation to implementation, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results

Required Qualifications:
A proactive, self-drive approach with demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative on new projects and challenges.
Proven experience in fast-paced startup environments, with a track record of driving strategic initiatives and delivering results
Well-developed project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, and ensure successful execution
Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills
Strong academic track record, graduate degree preferred - Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint), as well as chat and teleconferencing applications (e.g. Teams, Slack)
Foundational Abilities:
Well-developed project management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
Business savvy, with a deep understanding of enterprise-scale B2B market dynamics
Ability to anticipate and mitigate the pressures faced by the VP, finding ways to lessen their burden and ensure focus on critical priorities
Skill in identifying and strengthening the relationships most critical to the success of the VP's agenda, building trust and fostering collaboration

Salary range is $100,000-$160,000/year
