Recognized by the Department of Energy for its novel, drop-in ready nanomaterials and reliable industrial-scale process, Group14 serves the global transition to an all-electric future.**This role can be based at any one of our current office locations (Woodinville, Seattle, Moses Lake)**The Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of a new Battery Active Material (BAM) Factory. This position will join the engineering team tasked with the design and construction of the world’s largest production facility of next generation lithium silicon anode materials.

This position is uniquely situated to develop an instrumentation program for companywide impact and visibility.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:-Serve as subject matter expert for engineering and maintenance staff on all instrumentation related to the BAM 2 Facility.-Interprets industry standards and legal requirements related to instrumentation and SIS systems.-Assures and certifies the site’s compliance with SIS design, application, maintenance, testing, and operation requirements in accordance with industry practices and standards and legal requirements.-Conduct technical reviews of vendor/contractor instrumentation design to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards and codes.-Applies Management of Change work process for all aspects of instrumentation/control and SIS systems at BAM2, assuring that all such work is sufficiently evaluated and correctly executed.-Provide specification and installation guidelines for instruments and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with established engineering standards.-Work with maintenance in developing instrumentation preventative maintenance and calibration plans.-Develop instrumentation database for specifications and calibration records.-Configure, program and maintain field instruments with appropriate software platforms.-This position requires up to 25% travel.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, chemical, manufacturing or related engineering.-MUST HAVE industrial engineering experience.-Experience in materials production and/or chemical processing is preferred.-Experience in capital project management.-Experience with DCS and SIS control systems (Emerson, Yokogawa or similar).-Experience with PLC and SCADA control systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Ignition etc.)-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.-Demonstrated organizational skills.OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:-TUV or ISA certification in Safety Instrumented Systems, or equivalent experience and readily able to become certified.-Extensive knowledge of DCS, PLC, and field instrumentation including, but not limited to; pressure, temperature, flow, level and equipment monitoring and controls; DCS systems; PLC implementation and use including safety DCS and PLCs.-Extensive experience with management of change as applied to control systems and instrumentation discipline.GROUP14 OFFERS COMPELLING BENEFITS:-Medical, dental, vision, long-term and short-term disability insurance-Benefits are 100% paid for by the company for employees (80% for dependents)-Paid time off-401(k) with company match-Stock optionsGROUP14 IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERWe love creating opportunities for others by connecting people from widely diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and geographies.

All positions come with a company bonus and stock options.
