About the role


As Two Chairs enters its next phase of rapid growth, we’re looking to add an FP&A Manager to our dynamic Finance team. You’ll work closely with the Director of FP&A, VP of Finance, company leadership, and partners across our marketplace operations, talent acquisition, demand generation, and clinical teams to drive meaningful business impact and power our company-wide forecasting & planning. In helping the company scale rapidly and efficiently, you’ll build and improve systems and processes, setting the company up to support its rapid growth plans for years to come. If you have great attention to detail, love building process & systems, and are highly analytical, structured, and collaborative, this is your role!
You'll be responsible for leading headcount planning & budgeting, managing holistic expense & cash forecasting, supporting strategic initiatives, and developing highly scalable financial foundations.

Core Areas of Responsibility


  • Lead planning, budgeting & reporting  (50%)
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop accurate forecasts and financial models for all headcount & vendor investments, and establish core reporting packages for holistic functional and departmental budgets
  • Lead the bi-annual corporate budgeting process, ensuring visibility and accuracy into assumptions for costs across all departments
  • Support Leadership & Finance Team visibility into resource allocation, ensuring spend is aligned with financial targets and short- and long-term strategic priorities
  • Provide timely analysis & insights into period-over-period and actual vs. forecast performance
  • Design and build financial processes that are scalable and sustainable  (30%)
  • Continuously evaluate our financial processes and systems: identifying areas for improvement, implementing best practices, and recommending enhancements to streamline financial operations
  • Scope, roadmap, and implement financial planning software (Adaptive, Anaplan) that improves efficiency and visibility for plan setting & ongoing variance reporting
  • Establish and roll out policies & processes to enable seamless headcount and vendor management
  • Partner with People, Engineering, Product, Business Development, Operations, and other cross-functional partners to enable better business decisions  (20%)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for budgeting across the organization
  • Work closely with other teams to build ROI-based business cases, and evaluate tradeoffs for new investments - aligning team needs and company priorities

Impact and Success Indicators 


Where you’ll make an impact in the first 90 days:


  • Manage the company’s expense processing and reporting, including data review and analysis on an ongoing basis, establishment of policies and controls, and systems integration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Two Chairs to various external stakeholders and vendors; manage and organize contracts, renewals, and responses in a timely and accurate manner
  • Partner with the key cross-functional stakeholders, such as People, Operations, and technical teams, to build effective, efficient systems for the company’s long-term growth; conduct due diligence and analysis on new systems and processes as appropriate
  • Lead internal treasury efforts, including cash management and bank reviews
  • Support the finance team and broader organization with ad hoc projects

Where you’ll make an impact in the first year:


  • Establish a regular cadence of end-to-end cost reporting and analysis to provide better visibility for key stakeholders
  • Embed with the finance team to improve company margin by identifying areas of opportunity to build in efficiencies aligning spend by department to revenue and growth outcomes
  • Identify, plan, and implement a robust planning system that can scale rapidly with our business
  • Manage and develop Financial Analyst to contribute to a high performing FP&A team
  • Build a long-term plan for Planning & Budgeting at Two Chairs, including team growth and tech enablement, to support our 3+ year growth plans

You’ll be successful if you have:


  • 4+  years of experience in a FP&A, financial operations, or other highly analytical role at a high-growth startup/tech company
  • Knowledge of financial systems and processes, and an eye toward continuous improvement; exceptional attention to detail and a sense of pride in driving operational excellence
  • Experience with budgeting, vendor management, expense forecast vs. actuals reporting, and/or data tools
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects at once and build thoughtful, structured processes from the ground up
  • Adaptable and comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with high ambiguity and limited structure; bias toward action to create and build processes in a scalable way
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate actionable conclusions to various stakeholders
  • Highly collaborative with a team-first mentality, willing to roll up sleeves and dive in where needed; comfortable wearing many hats and managing competing priorities
  • Desire to work in a high-growth, mission-driven startup environment
