Learn more at commerceiq.ai.As SVP of Engineering - Platform you will be responsible for building a future ready ECommerce management platform that powers global Brands like Coca Cola, Pepsi, Nestle, Mondelez and many more. You will be responsible for setting the tech and platform vision working backwards from customer and product strategy. You will be hiring, mentoring and building a high performance team that embodies our leadership principles, executes with modern architecture, and with timely and high quality and is responsible for building a scalable platform that will power products across the lifecycle of ECommerce.In this role, you will lead a cross-functional team of Architects, Principal Engineers, Engineering Managers, Software Development Engineers (SDEs) and Software Development Engineers in Test (SDE-T).
As a leader, you will play a crucial role in building the culture, motivating the team and bringing the best practices across all of these functional areas to ensure that the software we build and the technical processes we implement are quantifiable with respect to quality and always deliver the best for our customers.The successful candidate will have managed SaaS analytics applications with rich visualisation, that include data platforms at scale (Petabytes scale) Candidates should be passionate about building reusables and scalable platforms that allow several applications to be built rapidly over common platform components. You should have demonstrated working with product management to define and influence the product roadmap, manage a fast-paced delivery schedule and influence and drive a high-level tech strategy with the leadership, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Build the tech and platform vision working backwards from strategic objectives. Work with the leadership team to create a forward looking tech strategy and influence product and business strategy. Own and deliver the tech strategy as per plan.
- Hire, manage and build a high performance team of engineers and engineering leaders
- Build your organization culture that embodies CIQ core values. Embibe culture of engineering excellence organization across the SDLC life cycle that develops CIQ products suite with quality and speed and is known for impeccable delivery utilizing best in class SaaS processes.
- Work with the product management team to influence and define the product roadmap, create an engineering delivery plan and execute it as per the plan.
- Mentor and guide the engineering team on engineering excellence best practices and own architecting the platform for scale.

Key metrics of success in the first 12-18 months:
Deliver the E-Commerce management platform that power all the CIQ applicationsBuild a focused Cloud Operations team and and provide a managed SLA service of 4-5 9’sArchitect and deliver platform services for admin, security, monitoring and 3rd party integration APIsEstablish a core DevOps function and increase developer productivity through standardized development practices, tooling, and automation including CI/CDWhat you need to succeed
- 20+ years experience in the industry. Prior experience in building, delivering and scaling high quality SaaS platform that powered multiple product lines with large data sets is a must.
- 7+ years of people management with superb people management skills and growing a team. Have managed multiple teams with over a 100 engineers including prior experience of managing a manager.
- Brings platform product first mindset - build for scale and build for long term. Having prior experience on building and managing various platforms as a service (data as a service, workflow as a service, Administration as a service etc) will be desired.
- Obsessing on engineering excellence and productivity is a must
- Strong analytical and strategic problem solving skills - exhibited throughout the career.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
- Building enterprise SaaS or B2B applications on cloud that have seen scale is a must
- B.E/BTech/MS from a Tier 1 college (IITs / IIITs / RECs)
