Recognized by the Department of Energy for its novel, drop-in ready nanomaterials and reliable industrial-scale process, Group14 serves the global transition to an all-electric future.The Senior Milling Process Engineer is responsible to support the commissioning, operations, and troubleshooting of new battery materials processing equipment, specifically powder processing equipment. This individual will primarily work with powder processing/handling equipment including Crushing, Milling, Dust Collection, Screening, and Solids Handling.
Duties will include supporting operation of equipment, process improvements, and creation of novel solids handling techniques.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:-Carry out process development studies towards scale up and commercialization of materials and process.-Assist in design, construction, and commissioning of new process and utility equipment.-Develop operating procedures and develop understanding of process conditions window to determine and control powder or product properties; including particle size distribution, solids handling, and milling processes.-Work with the R&D team to develop solutions to problems and improving production throughput, cost, product quality and process safety.-Collect and evaluate data in order to understand process conditions and awareness for scale up to manufacturing scale operations.-Collaborate with Operations to identify opportunities for continuous improvement as well as development of standard operating procedure.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering degree with relevant experience.-10+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment with powder handling and/or bulk solids processes.-Experience with pneumatic handling equipment including dust collectors, cyclones, and other pneumatic conveyance equipment.OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:-Understands operation of various powder processing unit operations including milling technologies, screening/sieving, classifiers, and dust collectors.-Powder characterization techniques including: particle size distribution, surface area, and pore volume.-Experience with powder milling equipment and/or non-fired heating equipment and kilns.GROUP14 OFFERS COMPELLING BENEFITS:-Medical, dental, vision, long-term and short-term disability insurance-Benefits are 100% paid for by the company for employees (80% for dependents)-Paid time off-401(k) with company match-Stock optionsGROUP14 IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERWe love creating opportunities for others by connecting people from widely diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and geographies.

All positions come with a company bonus and stock options.
